Writing software in MATLAB is useful or in C++

For example, if I want to analyse recorded flight data in the aircraft, how much is it economical to code in MATLAB.

If not why? What do you prefer?

My personal view is that MATLAB can be better especially if you want to analyze and visualize the aircraft data. Here is a demo that may explain why:
