how to detect a face from a real time video?

Hi friends,As a part of my curretnt project i need to detect the face from a real time video.That is i need to take the input from the integrated webcam and then i need to detect the face in it by drawing a rectangle kind of thing around the face.I just wanna know what is the proceedure or things that i wanna do so that we cud write the code based on it.So i will b very thakful if anyone can tell the initiatives or the theme for doing this program...
