Loading files in GUI

I need advice. Creating a GUI for my program, where over pushbutton seeking loaded files. One kind of file is always appoints matice000.txt, the way it is, for example .:

D: \ Dropbox \ School \ 7.SEMESTR \ Project II \ Videos \ 640 \ marie \ marie-640-1a \ matice000.txt

But I need to string that describes the path of the matrix was only:

D: \ Dropbox \ School \ 7.SEMESTR \ Project II \ Videos \ 640 \ marie \ marie-640-1a

ie without \ matice000.txt

How do I set it to a string loaded when selecting a file is always erased the last signs?

your question is not clear to me but have you looked at the function fileparts?

I agree, fileparts() should be able to break it apart.
