a) Why do you think that Multi-Scale and Multi-Directional methods like Gabor are effective for defect detection purposes.

Ahmad, the assignment question asks what *you* think, not what someone else thinks.
If you want information to assess in order to examine the issues in more detail before making a decision as to what you think, then you will need to examine the information and make the assessments yourself; otherwise you will not be answering about what *you* think.
To find information on the topic, you can use google or your favorite search engine.
If you do not know how to use search engines for research purposes, then that is a matter very much outside the scope of this forum, which you could attempt to remedy by talking to the librarians at your institution. (I know some librarians that teach research skills, but they are here in Central Canada.)

In my culture, most people dislike strangers referring to them as "my dear".
The hint you need to pay attention to is this: use Google to research the topic.
