Issue with minor and major grid line styles

Hi,

I have a wierd issue when saving a scatter plot, and grid line styles.

When using the code

grid on;
grid minor;
set(gca,'GridLineStyle','--','minorgridlinestyle',':');

to create this plot http://i.imgur.com/OP9yxA3.png

Everything is fine. (note this is a screencap, not a save)

Yet when saving the figure with

saveas(gcf, fullfile(outputfile, ['...','.png']))

it saves this http://i.imgur.com/WkAyaku.png

Note only one of the gridlines is set as it should.

Im an stumped, what could be cuasing this?

I stumbled on this problem as well. I think you need to set the ticks manually.

 set(gca,'xtick',200:200:1000);
 set(gca,'ytick',3:0.2:5);
