How to do a section plot- 2D discrete graphs and Z in colorbar

Hello,
I have a three columns vector, with which I would like to represent Y versus X on a discrete scatter plot, and z in colorbar (the color of each point).
Sorry if it seems a beginner answer but I can't manage to find that in the help.
Thanks

Can you use scatter(x,y,r,z), where r is an integer representing the size of the markers?
You could also use patch to plot x vs y, with z as the color, turn off the patch face color and use only the edges (Hint: set 'edgecolor' to 'interp').
