Description
The Polling time (in seconds) parameter specifies how frequently, in seconds, the XCP target checks for commands from the host computer during external mode communication.
This parameter applies to both XCP on TCP/IP and XCP on CAN transport layers. When using XCP on CAN, you may need to adjust the polling time to account for the lower bandwidth of the CAN bus compared to TCP/IP.
Dependencies
To enable this parameter, set Communication interface to
XCP on TCP/IP or XCP on CAN, and set
Set XCP target polling
time to Manually.
Settings
2 (default) | positive scalarEnter the polling time in seconds as a positive scalar value.
2(default)The target polls for XCP commands every 2 seconds.
- Custom value
Specify a custom polling time. A smaller value increases the polling frequency, which can improve responsiveness but increases CPU usage on the target. A larger value reduces CPU overhead but may increase latency in parameter tuning and signal monitoring.
