Add existing event to fault tree gate

Syntax

addEvent(gate,event)

Description

addEvent(gate,event) adds the event event as an input to the gate gate in a Safety Analysis Manager fault tree.

Examples

Create Events and Add them to Top-Level Gate

Create a fault tree document.

myTreeDoc = safetyAnalysisMgr.newDocument("fault-tree");

The new document contains one fault tree. Retrieve the FaultTree object from the document.

myFaultTree = myTreeDoc.FaultTrees(1);

Add five events to the fault tree document without assigning them as inputs to gates.

numberOfEvents = 5;
for n = 1:numberOfEvents
 myEvent(n) = createEvent(myTreeDoc);
end

Add the first event to the top-level gate.

addEvent(myTopGate,myEvent(1))

gate — Gate in fault tree document

Gate object

Gate in the Safety Analysis Manager fault tree document, specified as a Gate object.

event — Event in fault tree document

Event object

Event in the Safety Analysis Manager fault tree document, specified as an Event object.
