Why does the license file I obtain from MathWorks look corrupted when viewing in Notepad on Windows?

I just obtained my license file for MATLAB and when I look at it in Notepad it looks corrupt. Will this license file work, and if not, how do I get a proper license file?

The license files generated are done in Unix formatting so they may not look correct when viewed in some Windows text editors. However, the formatting will work with the network license manager. If you need to view the license file or make changes, use another editor such as Wordpad as this will show the license file in its intended format.
