My update failed to install on my MATLAB, and MATLAB no longer starts. What can I do?

The current workaround to this issue is to reinstall the update by running the update_installer from the following directory:

$MATLABROOT\bin\<platform>

If this does not resolve the issue, please regenerate MATLAB preferences as specified in the following post:
