Matlab closes without error on mac

I have macOS 14.3 and Matlab 2019a. For some reason, Matlab closes on its own without giving any error. This error is hard to reproduce and I looked up previous answers one of which suggested to reinstall Java; tried that and that did not fix the error. Also, this does not create any error messages or log files to track the error down. I looked up the Crash Reporting documentation and found nothing.
The same problem does not happen with Matlab 2018b.

Can you explain, when Matlab is crashing? During the computations? Are GUIs active during the crashes?
