Manipulate axis direction using addaxis

Hello, I am trying to plot multiple time series on a single figure using the addaxis function. I am able to plot the series and desgniate their respective ylims, but it seems that the orientation of the plot is determined by the initial series plotted. For example, if I reverse the ydir of the initial plot, it flips the entire figure, but nothing happens if i try to reverse the ydir of any subsequent plot added using addaxis.

This runs counter to being able to manipulate the ydir of each time series using basic plotting functions.

Any advice?
