Is it possible to rotate the markers plotted by `plot` or `scatter`?

As for
plot(1:3,1:3,'linestyle','none','marker','v');
or scatter(1:3,1:3,'v','filled');
Is it able to rotate the markers by an angle(I'm not meaning changing the view of the axes)?
