Why is my default plot() showing up with gradient colors on the lines?

I am running the plot() example directly from the matlab documentation, but my lines are showing up with gradient colors on them, instead of solid colors. Is there a default setting that I accidentally changed to make this happen?
x = 0:pi/100:2*pi; y = sin(x); figure plot(x,y)

That looks a lot like this issue. I think that was caused by a particular Windows driver for an Intel GPU. I don't remember the driver version number, but is this your configuration? If so, I would try one of the workarounds in that thread.
