How to set up Simulink for BEST Robotics

I help mentor a BEST robotics team. I currently have the student version of MATLAB on my pc and would like to run the Simulink configuration for the VEX Cortex controller development. I attempted this several years ago and the installation script distributed from BEST clobbered my MATLAB configuration.

I need my present MATLAB application to run for my student related work. How can I work in both worlds?
