How to cancel to two sounds of different frequencies such that to get zero output? Need different methods

Actually i have one sound that is given me by the teacher e.g sound of cricket (insect) and im told to sink this sound with another sound of your choice such that to get zero output. I think sink means to me that to cancel these two sounds. But how can i find another sound of such frequency well its not possible to get zero output. I need a method. Pls help me quick its my miniproject for my semester and i have only fews days for it to complete it
