Find the volume of the solid generated by revolving about the x-axis the region bounded by the curve y = sqrt(x) , the x-axis, and the line y= x-2.

Yes, but it's your homework. Are you not worried your instructor will catch you posting it? You know you are not allowed to delete this, right?

Hint: Notice that the volume is the difference of two simpler volumes V1-V2, where V1 is the volume of revolution of sqrt(x) on the interval [0,4] and V2 is the volume of the cone swept out by the line x-2 on the interval [2,4].
x=linspace(0,5);
plot(x,sqrt(x),x, max(x-2,0) )
