the "cvpartition" class in the statistics and machine learning toolbox as the following method:
function trainIndices = training(cv,varargin)
trainIndices = training(cv.Impl,varargin{:});
end
I have been trying to find the "trainin" function referenced in the training method butI haven't been able to find it. Additionally, this function does not inherit from any other superclasses. is this a recursion? I don't understand what this function does...

To my understanding, you want to learn about the 'training' method used with cvpartition.
There are three object functions used with cvpartition:
  1. "repartition" : Repartition data for cross-validation.
  2. "test" : Test indices for cross-validation.
  3. "training" : Training indices for cross-validation.
You can refer to training, test, and repartition MathWorks documentation page to learn more about each object functions.
