This example shows how to create and configure a video of an animation of a multibody model. The video captures four different views of the vehicle while driving.

Open the example and run the DynamicCameras.slx model.

To create the video, open the Video Creator and follow these steps:

  • To define the video name, in the File Name field, enter VehicleViews.

  • To include four views of the model, for the Included Tiles parameter, choose All.

  • To ensure the parameters match the settings in the image, configure the video using the settings in this table:

  • To create a video of the animation, click the Create button. The tool saves the video in the current working folder.

Parameters

expand all

Name of the video to create. The tool saves the video the current working folder.

Tiles to include in the video. Select All to include all the tiles in the visualization pane. Select Selected to include only the selected tile in the video.

Select Include Time to show the playback time in the created video.

Select Include Axis Triad to show the axis triad in the created video.

Video playback speed relative to real time. The video plays faster than real time at values greater than 1.0 and slower at values smaller than 1.0. For example, a ratio of 2.0 doubles the playback speed, while a ratio of 0.5 halves it.

Number of video frames per second of playback time. Higher frame rates result in smoother video playback time, but also larger file sizes.

File format to save the video in. The available options include compressed and uncompressed formats.

Video frame width and height. The frame dimensions must be positive integers. For example, the vector [800 400] sets the video frame dimensions to 800 pixels in width and 400 pixels in height. To use the current dimensions of the active visualization tile in Multibody Explorer, select auto.

Limitations

  • By default, on Linux distributions, the Video Creator does not support the MPEG-4 format.
