Senior Technical Consultant - Enterprise IT

MathWorks is the world leader in technical computing, system simulation and embedded code generation tools. We are seeking an engineer with a passion for utilizing enterprise IT systems for MATLAB and Server services. In this role, you will contribute to projects that improve the efficiency and scalability of MATLAB and Simulink–based development. Your responsibilities will include designing and building development environments integrated with IT systems, including MATLAB server products and cloud services, as well as implementing MATLAB and Simulink applications within enterprise IT systems to promote their broad adoption. This position is based in MathWorks’ Tokyo office.

Collaborate with colleagues and customers to deliver technically challenging projects

 

  • Lead and enable customers to maximize the value of MATLAB in their development and business operations by delivering services that combine cloud and server technologies with the MATLAB product family
  • Plan and organize resources to successfully complete projects
  • Interact directly with the MATLAB development team to resolve complex customer issues and identify potential new product features
  • Work closely with customers to understand their technical challenges and business needs

必須の資格

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Industry experience with IT systems integration
  • Strong technical skills in designing and building cloud-based systems (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Strong programming skills relevant to system integration and cloud technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C++, or C)
  • Solid understanding of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Business-level communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • Broad interest in IT systems integration and enterprise-scale systems

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have)

  • Experience in data analytics or data science
  • Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with modern development workflows such as DevOps
  • Domain experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Big Data (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
    • Databases (e.g., MongoDB, SQL Server, Cassandra)
    • Configuration Management and CI/CD (e.g., Gitlab, Github, Jenkins)
    • Data Visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire)
    • Web Technologies (e.g., IIS, Apache, Node.js)
    • Authentication and network security
