This example shows a vehicle that has a four-speed manual transmission, a schematic for which is available in the Gearbox subsystem. The key elements of the transmission are four synchronizers, denoted by S_1 to S_4. By engaging or disengaging these synchronizers and associated dog clutches, the transmission provides four ratios 3.581, 2.022, 1.384, and 1, respectively. The synchronizers are modeled using the Cone Clutch block. The model also provides an alternative abstracted representation of the gearbox more suitable for hardware-in-the-loop simulation. To select this, right-click the Gearbox subsystem, and select Variant -> Override using -> Variant1 (Abstracted).
